BOURBONNAIS, Ill. – The Mount Vernon Nazarene University men's soccer team (2-0-1) played to a 2-2 draw on the road against Olivet Nazarene University (1-0-1) on Saturday, August 30.
After a scoreless first half from both teams, Olivet Nazarene's Adrian Kang Hagman scored the first goal of the game in the second half at the 53rd minute, but MVNU was quick to counter. Miguel Bello scored an unassisted goal in the 57th minute to tie the game back up at 1-1. Olivet Nazarene's Caleb Mariotti reacted quickly to score a second goal in the 58th minute, but soon after, in the 60th minute, MVNU countered with its second goal. Jack Reagor's first career goal tied the game at 2-2.
Brayden Pierson played 90 minutes in goal for the Cougars and grabbed eight saves. MVNU had 16 shots, with seven of them on goal. Olivet shot 19 times with 11 coming on goal.

On Wednesday, September 3, MVNU will host Rochester Christian (Mich.) at CH4 Stadium with kickoff starting at 7:00 p.m.
