WINONA LAKE, Ind. – The Mount Vernon Nazarene University men's soccer team (6-6-6) played at Grace College (8-7-2) in the Crossroads League Tournament Quarterfinals on Wednesday, November 6.
MVNU entered the match as the seventh-seed in the tournament and struck early against the second-seeded Lancers. Zack Bowser put MVNU on the board just three minutes into the contest. Holding a 1-0 lead, MVNU continued to battle and fight, but the Lancers found the back of the net in the 16th minute to equalize the score. Entering the half, the score remained even at 1-1.
The Lancers came out of the second half strong, grabbing a goal in the 51st minute to claim the lead. MVNU kept fighting with the hosts, but were unable to find the game tying goal to keep its season alive, falling by a final score of 1-2.
