Men’s Soccer Begins Season with a Draw Against Shawnee State

MOUNT VERNON, Ohio. – The Mount Vernon Nazarene University men's soccer team (0-0-1) opened its 2024 season on Saturday, August 24 with a scoreless draw at CH4 against Shawnee State University (0-1-1).

MVNU outpaced SSU in shots, holding a 9-4 advantage. MVNU also led in shots on goal, 4-3. The Cougars had a couple of chances late but could not convert for the game-winning score.

SSU recorded 4 saves, while MVNU tallied 3 saves. All of which were made by Julius Blumenauer for the Cougars.
