Magens Delivers for Men's Soccer in Spring Opener

MOUNT VERNON, Ohio. — The Mount Vernon Nazarene University men's soccer team (6-4, 4-2 CL) defeated Rochester University (1-5) on Thursday, March 4 by a final score of 2-1.

Moses Magens was the hero for MVNU, scoring the game-winning goal in the 88 minute of regulation.

Magens came up big for the Cougars, accounting for both of the team's goals (21:32, 88:26). Magens had six shots on the night, two of them being on goal.

Zac Meyers and Bryant Echeverria each contributed with an assist.

Joshua Sitney and Sam Hershey had three and two shots, respectively.

Gabriel Burgos came up with two saves in goal for MVNU.

MVNU outshot the Warriors by a margin of 12-7. Each team had three shots on goal.

The Cougars will shift their focus to Indiana University East on March 10 at Cougar Field.
