Men’s Lacrosse Defeats William Woods 11-4 on the Road

FULTON, Mo. – The Mount Vernon Nazarene University men's lacrosse team (7-2) continued its Midwest trip through Missouri on Wednesday, March 11 where it defeated William Woods University (1-5) by a final score of 11-4.

MVNU struck first with goals from Dylan Haynes and Colton McKee in the first quarter. William Woods showed some life in the second quarter with three goals, but MVNU scored three goals as well to offset the damage and headed into the half with a 5-3 lead. A strong third quarter by the Cougars put the game away, as two goals by Ethan Haney and another by McKee put the team up 8-3. MVNU won in the end 11-4, improving to 7-2 on the season and 2-0 on its Midwest road trip.

Haynes and McKee led MVNU with four goals each. Haney scored twice and Connor Kistner scored as well. Chase Lawler had a game-high six groundballs and Trent Luptak had four caused turnovers. Vaughan Hawkins had 16 saves for the Cougars.

MVNU extends its trip with a game against Ottawa at 6:00 p.m. EST in Fulton, Missouri.
