Men’s Lacrosse Has Two Earn Heart of America Conference Honors

OVERLAND PARK, Kansas — The Mount Vernon Nazarene University men's lacrosse team saw Luke Modesto and Brett Townsend earn Heart of America Conference honors on Friday, April 26.

Modesto wrapped up his great senior season with a First Team selection as a defender. The Point Loma, California native had 67 groundballs and 32 caused turnovers in 13 games played. Along with being a rock on defense, Modesto gave MVNU a spark on offense with four goals and three assists.

Townsend was named to the Heart Second Team as a midfielder. The senior from North Canton, Ohio surpassed 200 points in his MVNU career during the 2024 season. Townsend accounted for 53 points and had 39 assists to go with 14 goals. Townsend also had 25 groundballs for MVNU.
