Cougars Fall to Benedictine at CH4

MOUNT VERNON, Ohio. – The (RV) Mount Vernon Nazarene University men's lacrosse team (6-2, 1-1) played (RV) Benedictine College (5-4, 1-0) at CH4 Stadium on Saturday, March 23.

In the first quarter, MVNU's lone goal came from Brett Townsend on an unassisted shot, tying the score at 1-1. However, Benedictine led 3-1 by the quarter's end. In the second quarter, MVNU capitalized on a man-up opportunity with a goal from Townsend assisted by Tyler Dickerson. At halftime, Benedictine led 6-2. The third quarter saw Benedictine scoring only two goals, extending its lead to 8-2. MVNU mounted a comeback in the fourth quarter, outscoring Benedictine 4-1, but it wasn't enough to overcome the earlier deficit. The final score favored Benedictine 9-6.

What's Next:

MVNU will be on the road for another Heart Conference matchup against No.9 St. Ambrose University (IA) on Wednesday, March 27 in Davenport Iowa. Opening faceoff is scheduled for 6:00pm.
