Cougars Fall to Statesmen in Conference Play

MOUNT VERNON, Ohio. — The No.8 Mount Vernon Nazarene University men's lacrosse team (7-2, 2-1 HAC) fell to the (RV) William Penn University Statemen (8-2, 1-0 HAC) on Saturday, March 25 at CH4 Stadium.

The Cougars and Statesmen played a close first half. After a 30-minute battle, MVNU trailed 4-5 heading into the break. In the second half, the Statesmen meant business as they went on 6-0 scoring run out of the break. With wind reaching gusts of 50 mph and lighting in the air, a power outage hit CH4 stadium causing the game to be delayed for forty minutes. William Penn picked up right where they left off before the outage as it went on to win by a final of 18-10.
