MVNU Bowling Begins Crossroads League Play

MARION, Ind. – The Mount Vernon Nazarene University men's and women's bowling teams began Crossroads League play in the Crossroads League Bowling Tournaments 1 and 2 on December 5-6 at Crest Lanes and EZ Lanes in Marion, Indiana.

In the CLB 1, the men finished sixth out of eight teams with an overall total of 4639 pins. Ryan Diehl led MVNU with a ninth-place finish, rolling a 194.7 tournament average. Josiah Casler placed 16th overall with a 188 average, while Benjamin Brubaker rounded out the top three for MVNU with a 21st place finished and an average total of 182.3.

In the CLB 2, the men placed eighth overall with a total of 4622. Casler placed 37th for MVNU with a 179.3 to lead the way.

The women placed fifth overall in the CLB 1 with a total of 4020. Brenna McTighe turned in an outstanding performance, placing second overall with a tournament average of 189.67 and 569 total pins through the three games. Olivia Strait placed 10th overall, rolling a 163.67.

The women placed seventh overall the following day in the CLB 2 with a tally of 4173. McTighe lead MVNU once again, this time placing 28th with a 164.67 average. Kristen Cobb followed, placing 34th with an average of 157. Rebekka Matlack placed 38th with an average of 155.67 pins per game.

Bowling competes in the Ohio Bowling Conference 3 at the Columbus Square Bowling Palace in Columbus, Ohio on January 22.
