Cougar Men Open Semester at Wayne Webb's
COLUMBUS, Ohio. — The Mount Vernon Nazarene University men's bowling team attended the Ohio Bowling Conference Tournament No.3 at Wayne Webb's in Columbus, Ohio on Saturday, January 22.
During their three regular 10-pin games the men had moments of consistency and fire, but then had moments where they struggled to maintain the high level of execution. Leadoff bowler, Chase Miles threw a 156, 220, and 108 (484 series). Freshman Blake Crow stayed consistent in his person games with 149, 151, and 152 (452 series). Freshman, Luke Jahn had a high game of 183. Sophomore, Riley Wike contributed during individual games as a sub bowler for Jahn. Bowling in the anchor position, senior Dana Hicks was high series for the team rolling 213, 172, and 149 (534 series). Freshman James Gerken started the day strong with a 184, fell in game two with a 147, and came back aggressive with a 186 (517 series). Gerken's solid finish set him up to bowl anchor during 19 of the 20 baker games that followed.
All six rostered members of the men's bowling team contributed to scores during their 20 baker games. The bakers had score ranges of 115 to 189, with their average being a 150 on the day.

MVNU looks forward to next weekend, when they travel to Indianapolis for Crossroads League No.2 on Friday, January 28 and Crossroads League No.3 on Saturday, January 29.
