Men’s Basketball Sees Two Receive All-League Honors

JACKSON, Michigan. – The Crossroads League has announced its postseason award winners and honors on Wednesday, March 6 and the Mount Vernon Nazarene University men's basketball team had two players receive honors.

Kade Ruegsegger was an All-Crossroads League Second Team selection for his outstanding play during the 2023-24 season. The senior from Dover, Ohio averaged a team-high 18.8 points per game, 5.2 rebounds per game, and 2.8 assists per game. Ruegsegger also averaged 1.3 steals per game. The talented guard was eighth in the conference in scoring and shot 45.7% from the field and 36.7% from deep.

Trent Koning had a great sophomore season for the Cougars and earned himself a spot on the Crossroads League's Honorable Mention Team. Koning averaged 15.1 points per game and shot 41.7% from the floor and 37.2% from three-point range. Koning also averaged 2.3 steals per game, which ranked him second in the Crossroads League.
