Cheer Begins 2025 Season at IWU
MARION, Ind. — The Mount Vernon Nazarene University competitive cheer team began its 2025 campaign at Indiana Wesleyan University on January 18, 2025.
MVNU competed in the six-team invite and placed fourth with a score of 71.79 on the day. Lourdes placed first with a total of 83.51, followed by IWU with a total of 82.23. Sienna Heights finished third (81.74), while Bethel was fifth (71.57) and Huntington sixth (49.43)
Coach Nowicki's Thoughts
"I couldn't have asked for a better start to our season! We had zero deductions and hit the most difficult pyramid sequence we've ever done. There are elements of the routine we will clean up before the next competition, but overall I'm very proud of their performance today!"

MVNU cheer is back in action on February 1 in Ariel Arena at its home competition.
