Willoughby Earns First Career Pitcher of the Week Honor
JACKSON, Mich. — After a strong pitching performance on the mound for the Mount Vernon Nazarene University baseball team, Reese Willoughby was named as the Pitcher of the Week by the Crossroads League on Monday, April 24.
The accolade for Willoughby is the first in the freshman's career. The Aurora, Indiana native pitched a one-hit shutout in his start at Marian University on Tuesday, April 18. In eight innings of work for the Cougars, Willoughby had six strikeouts in the 4-0 win. Willoughby only walked one batter in his start.
Willoughby and MVNU baseball are back in action on Tuesday, April 25 at Miami-Hamilton in Hamilton, Ohio. The doubleheader begins at 2:00pm.
